My research interests concern identity, existential questions and change in a migration context. I am also interested in place and the significance of places for how people understand themselves.
In my thesis in history, “Between movement and stillness. Memory and migration in young people’s narratives 2009–2021”, the analytical starting point is what and how young people remember after arriving to Sweden and being categorized as unaccompanied children. The aim of the thesis is to shed light on these young people’s trajectories and examine the ways in which they understand themselves in relation to different contexts in time and space. The thesis contributes both to research on unaccompanied minors and to historical research on forced migration.
I am also interested in social science literacy, especially in the context of Religious Education, and the broader perspective of developing Academic Literacy.
